There are companies available that provide the service of putting in residential solar power. However, these companies can be rather costly despite the government help and energy incentives given to them. One way we can help save the planet is to learn the do it yourself solar power methods and energize the home the renewable way.

Any type of renewable energy has been in existence for a long time. People are not as involved in learning about this as they should be. Nature provides all the energy anyone living on the Earth should need to live comfortably. Not only from the nature aspect, but think of the money that would be saved monthly with no electric bill.

The batteries should be 12 volt. Marina batteries work the best. These are otherwise known as the batteries that operate boats. Once these are purchased, you must find an inverter that is sized to suit your energy needs. Then you will need a different type of meter installed in place of the original meter that only runs one direction. The purpose of the reversing meter is to push excessive energy back into the electric lines that were bringing power into your home.

The energy then passes via a wire through a couple of regular car batteries into an inverter. After the power leaves the inverter, it is separated into dc power and ac power. Both methods of energy are used as one. The only way to tell how much current is being rejected by the fuse boxes and put back into the regular electricity lines is by a specified meter. These meters will run in both clockwise and counter clockwise. The counter clockwise operating direction adds up how much energy the main power company will compensate you for having solar energy.

Just because you have chosen to make solar power your sole energy source, does not mean you are completely on your own power source. The electric company lines will be attached. All this means is you must be phoned in case of an emergency repair. The electric company will instruct you to turn your solar source off, to keep unwanted electric current from flowing into their energy source. If this link is not interrupted while service is being performed on the line. A lineman can be killed.

In conclusion, solar energy has its benefits. Not only is solar energy the cheapest way to provide power to your home, it is the best for the environment.

Using the wind to power your own home from equipment in your own home, is very exciting and has what it takes to be a major force of renewable energy in the coming years. Although, many of those in the media do not seem to realize this.

The tech that goes in DIY wind turbines has been developing at a lightening pace. A professional system can now be built reasonably easily by people who don’t have any experience in this type of thing, or a specialist knowledge. They are not the same size as those turbines in the large wind parks, but are much smaller and will work very well in an average yard or garden. Although, you will need wind!

By building you own wind turbine you help yourself in some many different areas. First of course is the good that it will do from an environmental perspective.

Next is the fact that it is a really good way to save some cash on those ever increasing electricity bills. That is always a great help and now especially with the difficult economic times.

Also last but by no means least is that it is real fun.

I personally started for financial reasons, but now home wind power and also solar power as well are my hobbies. I have made a lot of good friends and shared a lot of good times because of them.

There is a little that needs to be spent to get everything you need to build a turbine. Much of the stuff can be found around most homes, but if it can’t then the total cost to buy it all should not be more than 200 bucks.

Also you will need to get yourself a really high quality instruction manual. These guides take people through the process from start to finish and assume you are starting as a novice.

The Sun is like a giant power station, making solar energy for us each and every day. Without this daily dose of solar power, Earth would not be even close to the same. Literally the difference would be like night and day.

This solar energy arrives to Earth as electromagnetic radiation, where it is absorbed and utilized in the biosphere in numerous ways. The Sun and solar energy it emits is arguably the most essential element to our existence.

This electromagnetic radiation, also referred to as light waves, includes an entire spectrum of different wavelengths. X-rays are some of the shortest light waves, where as radio waves are some of the longest. Solar energy falls in between, composed mostly of infrared waves, waves (colors) visible to the human eye, and ultraviolet waves. Life on Earth has heavily adapted toward these wavelengths that we receive.

The Sun emits solar energy in the range of infrared, visible light, and ultra-violet wave lengths. Thank goodness for this, because if the Sun emitted solar energy as X-rays or Gamma rays, we would all be toast.

The Earths natural landscapes, they absorb solar energy and produce heat. It is the heat absorbed by mountains and plains that create local wind patterns. It is the heat absorbed by the oceans that creates the famous currents. Solar energy is responsible for thunderstorms, tornadoes, and hurricanes. It melts the mountain snows which form many of our rivers.

And so it is no surprise that solar energy is at the root of almost all physical processes that occur on Earth. Without this valuable resource life as we know it would not exist.

Imagine if the Sun suddenly burned out, which scientists predict will happen someday. It is a reminder of the delicate balance to our existence, that Mother Nature will always hold the trump card to human prosperity. We should offer thanks for each and every day that we are blessed with the Sun.

Thinking about it like that, we should probably all wake in the Morning and give thanks to the Sun. It is the single item in our existence we take most for granted. What if the Sun disappeared for one day? Just think of the mayhem and chaos this would create. And think of all the solar energy that would be lost all over the world.

The modern age has brought us some new tools and technologies when dealing with solar energy. Now we can make electricity directly to power our homes. We can concentrate the solar energy and store it in thermal beds, or make hot water and steam.

We are entering a new age of energy generation for fulfilling our daily needs. We believe modern civilization has only just begun with these new age energies. Reaping the benefits of solar power and solar heat is in its infancy.

How much can we rely on these new technologies to power our daily needs? Does making power from solar energy really save in the long run? How difficult are solar energy systems to integrate, and what types of technologies are the best? We pondered these very questions ourselves, and decided to share some of the answers.
