There are companies available that provide the service of putting in residential solar power. However, these companies can be rather costly despite the government help and energy incentives given to them. One way we can help save the planet is to learn the do it yourself solar power methods and energize the home the renewable way.

Any type of renewable energy has been in existence for a long time. People are not as involved in learning about this as they should be. Nature provides all the energy anyone living on the Earth should need to live comfortably. Not only from the nature aspect, but think of the money that would be saved monthly with no electric bill.

These meters will run in both clockwise and counter clockwise. The counter clockwise operating direction adds up how much energy the main power company will compensate you for having solar energy.

Just because you have chosen to make solar power your sole energy source, does not mean you are completely on your own power source. The electric company lines will be attached. All this means is you must be phoned in case of an emergency repair. The electric company will instruct you to turn your solar source off, to keep unwanted electric current from flowing into their energy source. If this link is not interrupted while service is being performed on the line. A lineman can be killed.

In conclusion, solar energy has its benefits. Not only is solar energy the cheapest way to provide power to your home, it is the best for the environment.

As the earth’s energy resources such as gas, coal and oil become scarcer, it’s vital that new sources of energy are found, both for industrial and domestic use. It’s not surprising that many families are looking to “green energy” for their power requirements.

Huge wind turbines can be seen in many parts of the countryside, but a wind turbine suitable for an average family home can be built from scratch. It’s not that difficult (or expensive)

There is hardly a place on earth that does not have enough wind activity to keep a home-built turbine whirring away. The great thing about wind energy is that its free! Like solar power and of course water which powers various hydro-electric power stations, it is something that occurs naturally. Its available all the time, waiting to be harnessed, to be tapped into.

It is possible to build such a system for $200 or less. With a little know-how, and a reasonably good DIY ability, you could conceivably build such a system over the course of a weekend. And the materials you will need should be available in your local hardware store.

Its no wonder really, that so many people are turning to this source of energy. It is very satisfying to be able to produce your own home made wind power. You could even produce more than you need ” then sell it back to the electricity company. Thats a nice thought – watching the electricity meter going backward for a change!

There are many arguments in favour of building such a system – one thing that I like about wind power is that its so clean – there is no smoke, no waste material to worry about. And the wind is freely available to all.

The great saving that can be achieved through a home wind system is one of the main attractions. It’s estimate that it could reduce your energy bill by 80% – or eliminate it altogether| You are saving from the day it is connected up.

Once the system is up and running, it will require a minimum of maintenance. And the running costs will be low also.

Another good thing about producing home wind power, is that it is of course helping in the fight against global warming, and reducing one’s carbon footprint.

Wind power has been in use for many years in electricity generation, and is tried and tested. The technology is well developed and it is now available to supply power to an average home. I’m sure we will see more and more families turning to wind power, as the public realises its many advantages.

Solar lights have become popular and are lights for today and the future. We have been using energy from the sun for years, but it has only been recently that we can use this power in an efficient way. With solar lights, we are able to take another big step towards keeping the earth cleaner and safer.

Not only are solar lights able to be used in many ways, but they are earth friendly too. The sun is a source of energy that is renewable and we can use the energy from it without causing more pollution to occur. Using solar lights allows us to light up our world without having to increase negative effects on the earth.

It’s a good idea to take a look at how solar lights actually work. The light fixtures actually have a little solar power on top of them. They are a lot like the panels you see on roofs for homes, but much smaller. During the time that the sun is out, the panel collects energy from the sun, which is transferred to a battery that can be recharged again and again. When the sun is out, the battery charges up, and then when it gets dark, that energy is taken and used on the LED light, which provides light through the dark hours.

For the most part, solar lights are used for backyards, pool lights, lights around doors, and for lighting up the gardens as well. You can find various types of solar lights, and some of them are merely functional, while others are beautiful and decorative in nature. There are so many benefits to using solar lights. Even during the winter when the days are gloomy, the battery will still get enough sun to charge them. The lights will go on and off on their own as long as the sun rises and sets. There is no heat coming from the LED’s either, which means your kids and pets are totally safe. If the power goes off, you can go outdoors and enjoy the light from your solar lights. They also benefit the earth, and they make great choices for your outdoor lighting needs.
